This is a chance to experience the work of a section of filmmakers often under-represented in the mainstream movie sector. Like all great cinema experiences, the new, exciting, authentic work on display at this year’s Festival will truly blow your mind, make you laugh, and take you on a journey.
Made by filmmakers with learning disability, the films in the SDSW Festival will appeal to everyone.
About this years’ selections.
In 2020, we received over 500 international film and new media entries for inclusion in our Festival.
The SDSW Committee worked hard to select the best films for your viewing pleasure, and are extremely excited by this years' incredible selection.
Ranging from comedy, to documentary, animation and dramas, there is something for everyone, with short films from one to 16 minutes duration.

Tutti Arts recognises that the terms people with disability, or artists with disability, are widely used in Australia, including by disability advocates and peak bodies.
We also recognise that the term is contested and evolving, with increasing use by artists and others of self-identifying terms such as disabled artist. We are also aware that some artists choose to identify with a specific community and prefer to identify as a deaf artist or an Autistic artist, and still others who prefer not to refer to themselves as disabled or having a disability at all. At Tutti we are committed to recognising self-identification and to engaging in dialogue with artists as the language around disability evolves.
“The movies are like a machine that generates empathy. They let you understand a little bit more about different hopes, aspirations, dreams and fears.”
— Roger Ebert
