Quiet on set, and action!

2026 Sit Down Shutup And Watch Screen Festival

Thank you to everyone who submitted work for the 2026 Festival.

Entries are now closed, and schools have an extension until the end of Term 1 for final pieces.

The festival will take place in October 2026.

We’re planning at least one live event, with the possibility of more. Details will be shared as they’re confirmed. An online version of the festival will also be available so everyone can take part.

This year marks our 15th anniversary and 7th biennial festival.

As the first disability‑led screen festival in the Southern Hemisphere, we’re proud of our history of leadership, adaptation and innovation.

We look forward to sharing your creative and thoughtful screen stories this October.

Successful submissions will be screened to audiences around the globe in person and online during October 2026, exact dates tbc

Good Luck 😊

“People are only as disabled as their environment, so if we start to create a culture where it is acceptable for everybody to be able to create, then we are automatically adapting the culture to enable that to happen.”
