Inaugural SDSW Festival

Sit Down, Shutup and Watch Film & New Media Festival will showcase the filmmaking talents of artists with a learning disability to a global audience.

Inspired by the UK’s highly successful Oska Bright Film Festival, SDSW has been three years in the making. The festival is aimed at raising awareness in the wider community of a a growing international learning disability led screen culture and aims to promote cultural change, inclusion and acceptance of high quality work by filmmakers with a learning disability.

Sit Down, Shutup and Watch starts at 10.30am on Friday 31st October 2014 at Angaston Town Hall, in South Australia’s beautiful Barossa Valley! Come and join us. Everyone is welcome.

For our inaugural festival, the SDSW Committee received more than 40 short film entries produced by learning disabled artists. As well as films made by local filmmakers, we were very pleased to have attracted submissions from Victoria and New South Wales as well as films from around the globe, including entries from Ireland, England, Germany, and Israel.
