Sit Down, Shutup and Watch Film & New Media Festival is a bi-annual South Australian learning disability-led film festival. The third Festival will be held over 19-20 October 2018 in Angaston, South Australia.
Entering a film
The 2018 Sit Down, Shutup and Watch film and new media festival has a separate entry stream for school groups, with an extended deadline of the end of Term 2 (Friday 6 July 2018) to submit a film.
Making a film is the perfect project for a class or unit because there is a role for everyone – whether it is writing, acting, directing, sound effects, special effects, soundtracks, costume design or construction of a set.
The film needs to have a person with a learning or ‘intellectual’ disability at its centre. This means that a person with a learning disability is the force behind the film not simply the subject matter! If you are considering entering a film, please read the Schools Instructions for Entry first.
Once your film is finished and you are ready to enter it, please
- fill out the School Entry Form
- fill out a School Permission Form and ask everyone appearing in the film to fill out a Permission Form
Visiting the Festival
School groups are also encouraged to make an excursion to Angaston for the festival on Friday 19 October 2018 when all films made by schools will be screened. Angaston is about 1 hour and 15 minutes’ drive from the Adelaide central business district.
